Leadership Academy Schedule

Leadership Academy is an award winning, professional leadership development program for Phi Sigma Pi Members. The core curriculum includes personal leadership development, Officer and Committee Chair training, strategic planning and interpersonal skills. Through the program, Members will reflect and evaluate their own strengths and how to utilize the strengths of fellow Members to develop as an organization. The program has been designed to provide an insightful and challenging experience that will fully engage attendees. Participants will enhance their leadership abilities to aid them to reach their personal and professional potential.

Attendee Professional Agreement/Pledge

To gain the most from the Leadership Academy experience, I pledge to:

  1. Represent Phi Sigma Pi with pride and dignity, conducting myself in a professional manner;

  2. Be actively engaged in the program;

  3. Be open-minded;

  4. Be respectful, listen to others and share my opinions without judgement;

  5. Accept responsibility and hold others accountable;

  6. Work with others in team spirit;

  7. Be open to constructive feedback;

  8. Have the desire to serve and exhibit diligence and motivation;

  9. Maintain a positive attitude;

  10. Explore, grow, set goals and take action throughout the Leadership Academy so when I return to my Chapter, workplace and community, I will better serve humanity.

Confirmation

Confirmation of your registration will be sent via email. If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours after submission, please contact the National Office at 717-299-4710 or leadershipacademy@phisigmapi.org.

Leadership Academy Waiver The event waiver can be found here. All Attendees must agree to the waiver in order to attend the event.

 

Inclement Weather Policy

Should inclement weather conditions occur that would make it unsafe to conduct the Leadership Academy, the National Office will cancel the event. Cancellations will be announced at least 24 hours before the scheduled programming begins. All registered attendees and volunteers will be notified via email and text message alerts. The cancellation will also be posted on Phi Sigma Pi’s website and social media pages. In the event of a cancellation, registration fees will be partially refunded since alternative programming and resources will be made available to those who registered. Leadership Academy materials, resources and t-shirt would be mailed to each registered attendee.


Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be made available when refund requests are made in writing and must be made by the registration deadline, after that point, no refunds will be available. However, you can send another Member in your place at no additional cost. Cancellations and transfers may be submitted via email to leadershipacademy@phisigmapi.org.

Attendees will need to officially register to receive the Leadership Academy educational materials. Plan to arrive at the Leadership Academy between 7:00-7:30 pm.

This is the perfect opportunity to start making connections with Member from other Chapters! During this time we will also be supporting our National Philanthropy by making HOBY Hugs.

The Leadership Academy official programming will begin with a welcome and introductions of Council, Staff, Alumni and Volunteers. We will discuss the goals of the Leadership Academy and review relevant information. Before diving into the programming, we will host an icebreaker activity to meet fellow Members.

One of the most important qualities of being an effective leader is to evaluate and reflect upon your personal strengths and weaknesses. To kick off the Leadership Academy program we will start with conducting a personal leadership inventory to strengthen oneself; but then, just as importantly, discuss how to apply your leadership skills to your Chapter and beyond.

As a Member of Phi Sigma Pi, we pledge to live up the mission and ideals of our Fraternity. As a group we will conduct an in-depth review on how to daily live out The Ritual’s call to action and explore the Fraternity Mission Statement.

As Members, it is vital that we demonstrate the values and ideals of Phi Sigma Pi in our communities, on our campus and to others. This session will explore ways to effectively represent the Fraternity’s Mission and identity in marketing to Potential New Members. We will discuss meaningful opportunities to convey who we are and further, how to demonstrate who we are.

The Leadership & Chapter Development sessions will focus on specific functional areas. Each session will be facilitated and include group instruction, discussions and example scenarios. Putting Your Goals Into Action Module focuses on creating strong goals for your Chapter to achieve. You will do this by first discussing where your Chapter is with a SWOT analysis, creating goals for your Chapter that you can accomplish and establishing an action plan to complete the goals you create.

Go through Leadership in Action Facilitator Training to start presenting LiA Modules to your Chapter. Already a Facilitator? Join "Advancing Your Facilitation Skills." You will learn how to make your presentations more impactful and have the opportunity to give and receive feedback.

A Phi Sigma Pi Member favorite! This is your opportunity to hear and share ideas with Members from other Chapters and ask those final burning questions.

(Optional, Casual Attire) You are encouraged to stay Saturday evening following the closing of the official Leadership Academy programming to attend the fellowship event hosted by the Host Chapter.
