With over 105 years of history and a presence on 120+ campuses and geographical locations across the United States, we're proud to be a trusted and established force for good. With our National Staff, hundreds of volunteers and more than 55,000 inducted Members all committed to our mission through scholarship, leadership, and fellowship, you can be confident that we're the real deal.

Is this an honor society?
Curious about whether Phi Sigma Pi is an honor society? While we do embody some of the elements of an honor society, we're actually much more than that. We're a dynamic and active professional organization that offers the perfect blend of service opportunities, social connections, and academic recognition. At Phi Sigma Pi, locally and nationally, we're committed to providing our Members with a diverse range of experiences that go beyond what traditional honor societies can offer. What are some Membership benefits?
While each Member's experience is unique, there are a variety of basic benefits and programs that you will have access to:

  • Receive your Membership Certificate, Membership Pin and Graduation Cords (delivered in your graduation semester)
  • Participate in local chapter activities and events
  • Access to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award
  • Be eligible to hold a local leadership position within the Chapter
  • Access to National Scholarships
  • Earn your Leadership Certification in our one-of-a-kind National Program
  • Opportunity to wear your Phi Sigma Pi Greek letters proudly
  • Request Letters of Recommendation from the National Office after earning your Leadership Certification

What are Membership requirements?
Phi Sigma Pi is a vibrant organization that holds regular chapter meetings and organizes various activities, including service projects, programming, formals, and more, throughout the academic year.

How to become a Member:

  1. Fill out the signup form
  2. Complete the online interactive New Member (Education) Program
  3. Become a Member by attending the Induction Ceremony (either in person or virtually)


Is there a time commitment?
As an active organization, you should anticipate a time commitment of about 1-2 hours per week, depending on your level of involvement. This includes chapter meetings, service projects, etc.

How long does the New Member Program take?
The great thing about our program is that the time commitment is entirely up to you. We only require that the New Member Program be finished by the Induction date, but if you need an extension, please let us know. We understand the importance of accommodating the fast-paced lifestyle of today. The program's five learning components cover a variety of topics, including discovering your leadership style, learning about our history, and participating in an online service project of your choice. Each component is further divided into sections that can range from three to twenty minutes, allowing you to complete the program at your own pace and on a schedule that suits you best. Whenever you're ready, you can take part in our in-person activities and events.

Who is eligible?
Undergraduate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have completed at least one semester of coursework, with one semester remaining, are eligible.

Is there a chance to take on Leadership roles?
At Phi Sigma Pi, we prioritize active involvement and recognize the significance of leadership in our local community. There are ample opportunities for individuals with varying levels of interest to participate in leadership roles, whether that be as officers, committee chairs, or committee members.

I belong to another Greek letter organization, can I still join?
Absolutely!  It's important to note that Phi Sigma Pi is part of the Professional Fraternity Association (PFA) and is not affiliated with social Greek Councils. We believe that our community of scholars and leaders is enriched by the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our members, and we welcome anyone who shares our values of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
